Dr. Whelan’s expertise was further refined during a fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, where he specialized in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
With more than 20 years of experience as an infertility specialist, Dr. Whelan has made notable contributions to the field, delivering over 15 presentations and publications. He currently serves as the Practice Director for Assisted Reproductive Technologies at Reach Fertility, where he leads innovative efforts in fertility treatment and patient care.
Since 2004, Dr. Whelan has been a key member of the Reproductive Endocrinology Associates of Charlotte, having moved from Virginia to join the team.
Dr. Whelan is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and holds active memberships in several prestigious organizations, including the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Howard A. Kelly Surgical Society, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
